The longest running self-advocacy group 

in New Hampshire

The Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group is the oldest running self-advocacy group in the state, starting around 1984. It is a recognized local chapter of the statewide self-advocacy non-profit organization, People First of New Hampshire.  Individual self-advocates of the Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group were the original task-force members and co-founders in helping to establish People First of New Hampshire.  Several members of the group have had important roles on the board of People First of NH as well as on a national level with Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered.   Members frequently speak at conferences both statewide and nationally.  The Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group is responsible for the beautification of the Laconia State Cemetery.  Meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of each month.  For more information you may contact info@peoplefirstofnh.org
