The Generation Y-Not Committee once again planned a great conference for young adults  held in Concord on November 6th with keynote speaker, Keith Jones.   This conference was for young adults only (ages 18-35). 

  • Work/Volunteering/Community Involvement:  Discussed relationships with co-workers, employers or community members and how you get along, network and advocate for yourself.

  • Love and Intimacy:  Learn and express experiences and feelings related to family, romantic and non-romantic love, marriage, sex and intimacy

  • Relationships and Play:  Learn and share how to make and keep friends, what you do in your free-time, what you do to get-together with people to share and care, and, how you connect with friends to share and involve yourselves in common interests.

 

Keynote Speaker

Keith Jones

Keith Jones has been called "a pioneer" in the disability rights movement and is truly committed to progressive effective change. Keith hopes that by contributing to the dialog and working to create and improve on policies and attitudes, everyone will be able to pursue reaching their full potential.

Keith is the President and CEO of SoulTouchin' Experiences, an organization aimed at bringing a perspective to the issues of access inclusion and empowerment, which affect him as well as others who are persons with a disability. Keith is also extremely active in multi-cultural, cross-disability education and outreach efforts and, conducts trainings (including train the trainer) with the purpose of strengthening efforts to`provide services and information to people with disabilities.

In his role as an advocate, Keith is a public speaker on the issues and topics that range from education and employment to Health Care and Home and Community Based Services Intersection of Community Business and Public Policy Disability Rights and Inclusion. Most recently Keith has been featured in two critically acclaimed documentaries Dan Habib's " Including Samuel" and Maggie Doben's " Labeled Disabled".
