Goal Statements 2005

 Advocacy:

Members of People First will share their stories in two newsletters and on the website within the upcoming year as to how they let their opinion and voices be known through their personal and or group advocacy.

Notes/Activities:

·         Training on the legislative process

·         Hosting a gathering with legislators

·         Training on how to write testimony and testify

 Relationships:

People First will offer a way for all people to come together for a common reason, to strengthen equality and respect for all, and to build relationships with other community members in order to create change.

Notes/Activities:

·         Train facilitator(s)

·         Offer opportunity for conversations with community members

·         Learn methods where everyone has a voice and everyone is equal

National Conference:

 1.  Participants who attend the National Conference, May 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia will gather information as to what they have learned in workshops and other conference sessions and bring back to local groups and the membership of People First.

2.       Participants who attend the National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in October, 2006 will meet at least one person from another state and ask questions about local and statewide self-advocacy activities, and share this information back in NH with local groups and the membership of People First.

Notes/Activities:

·         Plan for conference: travel, costs, hotel, workshops to attend

·         Prepare and present upon return
